Covid-19 update

It’s been a tough few days for all of us I’m sure.

We all face uncertainty.

I’ve been hitting the cancellation button constantly, which is a strange feeling as I only hit it for the first time in 10 years on Monday. I have enjoyed hosting families here in Caister for all that time and boosting local businesses by bringing quality tourism to the village. Thank you to my previous guests, most of you I really enjoyed chatting with 😂 So I hope to be here in future years to welcome returning and new guests but bills have to be paid somehow. When I figure it out I’ll let you all know how...

With the future being so hard to predict and in order to protect my local community I have decided to close the cottage until the 30th April. This date will be moved in line with government advice but I don’t want to be responsible for bringing covid-19 to my neighbours, friends and residents of our fine village.

Despite the financial issues this will create I have decided to refund all guests booked to 30th April in full and will continue to do so as needed. Although my terms clearly state there are no refunds we are all in trouble at this time and my overdraft should cover all outstanding bookings 🤨 It’s not our fault that we are in this situation and we need to look after each other.

Volkswagen ID3, ID4 & E-Golf at Caister Beach Cottages

The Holiday cottages all have their own British made Viridian EV Eco Lite chargers chargers powered by 100% green electricity from Octopus and rated at 7 kW. Dog friendly holiday cottages to rent in Norfolk and holiday cottages with EV charging for your ID3, ID4 or e-golf seem to be a pretty rare combination which we offer here at Caister Beach Cottages. The beach at Caister-on-Sea is dog friendly year round and is usually quiet even in the height of summer and amazingly only steps away from your own private gate. With everything nearby you don’t even need to drive while staying here, perhaps only for days out to attractions nearby which are many.

Volkswagen EV Owners Charging Facilities

Since the purchase of our own EV in late 2020 (Kona 64) for which we originally installed our charger we have discovered the demand for holiday cottages with EV charging in Norfolk, the frustration of finding defective equipment or even being ICE’d so we now have 3 Viridian Eco Lie chargers on site so in the unlikely event that one is not working there are backups available. Our Local Tesco’s here in the village also has a free charger for use while shopping there. Haven’t been ICE’d there yet either!

The carbon footprint for an average home is 574 kg of CO2 per year. Our cottages with the Octopus tariff have a carbon footprint of 0. Due to Caister Beach Cottages incredibly close proximity to the sea we really all need to do our bit to reduce emissions and try to prevent excessive sea level rises.
