It’s been a tough few days for all of us I’m sure.
We all face uncertainty.
I’ve been hitting the cancellation button constantly, which is a strange feeling as I only hit it for the first time in 10 years on Monday. I have enjoyed hosting families here in Caister for all that time and boosting local businesses by bringing quality tourism to the village.
Thank you to my previous guests, most of you I really enjoyed chatting with. So I hope to be here in future years to welcome returning and new guests but bills have to be paid somehow. When I figure it out I’ll let you all know how...
With the future being so hard to predict and in order to protect my local community I have decided to close the cottage until the 30th April. This date will be moved in line with government advice but I don’t want to be responsible for bringing covid-19 to my neighbours, friends and residents of our fine village.
Despite the financial issues this will create I have decided to refund all guests booked to 30th April in full and will continue to do so as needed. Although my terms clearly state there are no refunds we are all in trouble at this time and my overdraft should cover all outstanding bookings 🤨 It’s not our fault that we are in this situation and we need to look after each other.
Looking for a tranquil beachfront getaway? One Coastguard Cottage is at the end of a quiet narrow (and slightly bumpy) track with no through traffic, making it an ideal escape from a noisy world. Sleeping up to 4 adults and 2 children comfortably in 3 bedrooms, the cottage is a great location for romantic couples or family breaks and we often have several generations staying together for special occasions. You simply cannot stay any closer to the sea!

Access: Level entrance to both gardens and car park
Heating: Full gas central heating and hot water.
Parking: There is a car parking area which offers space for 2 cars.
Access: Due to the secluded location of this cottage, guests are advised that access is via a track approximately quarter mile long. Please drive very slowly and with great care at all times. Low slung vehicles should exercise particular care.
Garden: At the front of the cottage there is an enclosed garden which with a double hammock and dining area. The rear garden is also enclosed with rattan sofas and door to the beach. Smokers also have a sheltered outbuilding
Utilities: Full gas central heating, fast wi-fi (32Mps), washing machine and airer.
Beach fishing: It doesn’t get any closer!
Logs: Eco logs and fire starter kits can be purchased at the time of booking or whilst at the cottages for use on the fire. Eco logs are sold in 10kg packs and cost £7 each. A pack should last all day or two evenings. We also provide kindling for easy starting of the fires.
Village: Caister-on-Sea has everything you need for a comfortable stay from a traditional butcher, fishmonger, several supermarkets and more. We have many quality pubs, restaurants and award winning fish and chips all on the doorstep. Great Yarmouth with its racetracks, entertainment and restaurants is nearby. You can do as much or as little as you like here.
